6 Reasons To Implement The BYOD Policy In Your Company

The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policies have been around for a long time in the business world. Since the increasing popularity of personal devices, organizations have considered and implemented integration plans between the electronic devices of their employees and their own systems.

A study conducted by several IT companies found that increased mobility of employees (63%), satisfaction (56%) and productivity (55%) are the main drivers of BYOD.

6 Reasons To Implement The BYOD Policy In Your Company
1) Cost Savings

One of the most important reasons why companies implement BYOD is cost savings. For example, organizations no longer have to pay for the cost of maintenance and repair of smartphones, tablets or laptops used and owned by employees. In addition, training costs decrease substantially when employees use technologies with which they are already familiar and comfortable.

2) Improvement Of Productivity

When it comes to their devices, each employee has their own personal preferences. Some may prefer a device with an Android operating system; others may opt for a device that runs on an iOS platform (Apple). With their own smartphones, workers can perform higher quality jobs at a faster production rate, which increases productivity as a whole.

But why does this happen? One of the reasons is that changing operating systems or even device interfaces in the latest versions of the phone can be an overwhelming change and, often, users take a long time to fully adapt. Another reason is that employees are simply more familiar with the options and features of their own device. Finally, some people find it difficult to keep up with two devices to separate work from personal activity during extended hours and remote work situations.

3) Increased Employee Response Capacity

Implementing a BYOD policy goes beyond saving costs and improving productivity: it gives employees more freedom and shows confidence in them by the company.

Workers carry their devices with them at all times of the day, wherever they go. For organizations, that means they have an employee who can always be connected to work, should the need arise. That does not mean they have to work all the time, but they will have a higher response rate if you need to contact them for an urgent reason.

4) Device Update

With the incentives that telephony providers commonly offer to mobile consumers, most people can keep up with the latest devices more easily than a company could do, especially because they do not have to comply with budget update schedules of IT inventory. These newer devices will come with more advanced features and better operating systems, which translates into more productivity and better built-in security protocols.

5) Focus On The Cloud

In the modern business landscape, cloud-based applications are becoming synonymous with success. About 90% of organizations use the cloud in some way, and 50% use cloud services as their preferred solution.

BYOD policies go hand in hand with these services in the cloud. Most state-of-the-art applications support mobile devices, which means that employees will have access to advanced work tools at any time. By using BYOD, companies facilitate the transition to solutions of the future.

6) Flexibility For All

With BYOD, any job that needs to be done can be completed from anywhere and on a single device, safely and conveniently. BYOD offers both employees and organizations greater flexibility to work in the way that is most effective.
